On January 21st, when the ACHDNC recommended to Secretary Sebelius that SCID newborn screening be added to the core panel of diseases which are recommended for all states, a clock began ticking.  She has, by law, 180 days to either recommend SCID newborn screening or send it back to the committee.  I was recently wondering at what point that 180 day time frame would end, so I looked up what would be 180 days after January 21st.  According to http://calendarhome.com/ it should be July 20th.  So I’ve decided to put up a ticker to help remember that date.
