Woodson High School has a rifle team.  There are actually a few schools in Fairfax County that have teams including Woodson and Robinson.  Alex, Ray’s friend, has been shooting small bore for the Robinson team for a year now.  Ray decided that he wanted to try to go out for rifle at Woodson, but preferred to try precision air rifle.  Rifle is a winter sport, so the season actually begins now.  Here’s a pic of Ray practicing in prone position.  The Izaak Walton League facility helps to support the local shooters and provides range time for them.
